Complication

Turkish: Komplikasyon

A complication is an adverse event associated with an illness or intervention. Calling an outcome a complication does not, by itself, decide whether care was appropriate or whether liability exists.

What Complication means in a Turkish medical case

The review separates the occurrence of the event from the provider's duties to assess risk, inform the patient, detect warning signs and respond in accordance with the circumstances.

A recognised risk may occur without negligence, while a recognised complication can still be mishandled. The timing of symptoms and the clinical response are therefore central.

Questions patients often ask

Can a recognised complication still raise a legal concern?

Yes. A recognised risk may occur without negligence, but information, monitoring and the response to warning signs still matter. Compare the symptom timeline with what the provider knew and did.
